Summary: Drunk driving vs Stoned driving = 20x Chance of Fatal Accident Vs. 2x Chance of non-fatal accident.
Drunk Driving: Speeding, Over-estimation of skills
Stoned Driving: Pulled over for going 20 on the freeway.
Lead Researcher: When we adjusted the study for age and alcohol, we found no, to decreased, risk of stoned driving and being in an accident, but I still think it’s dangerous. It is widely accepted that there is a two-fold increase in risk with stoned driving. (Does this seem…contradictory?)
Suggestions: Lower the BAC. Ban pot bars so people aren’t encouraged to smoke away from home.
