Check this guy out. If you get arrested with some marijuana, and you live in Iowa City, and it’s after this November’s elections, and he has been elected county attorney, you will not be prosecuted. Also, if the same context arises, but you were arrested for public intoxication, you will not be prosecuted. Pretty neat, huh?
Also, also: Arrests for blacks compared to whites, nationwide, for possession of marijuana is disproportionate at a rate of 4:1. BUT BUT BUT! In Iowa, who has the highest level of discrimination in arrests for blacks compared to whites, that rate doubles, to 8:1. And, this is true even in Johnson County.
Consider registering as a Democrat so you can vote in the primaries in June, and then register for whomever (Republican would be funny, to upset the statistics) and vote for him in the general election.
